What inspires you about a place to live?

One of the things we are most passionate about, without a doubt, is traveling. And every time we discover a new place, we often use expressions like: I would love to stay here, I didn't know this was possible in a community, or Wow, things work here, and we end up coming back with the idea of wanting to change the world, or even easier, wanting to move, because we make an unconscious click with those elements that we didn't even consider necessary for our life.

Changing the environment, the values, the laws that govern a society or simply the behavior of man in the communities is not an easy task, it requires time, money, effort and, mainly, conscience; however, it is enough to make a pause in our unstoppable routine of life, open our senses and think: what can I do to improve “this”? and above all, how do I choose to “be me” to raise my quality of life? And with these questions I would like to give you an infinite list of things that you can start doing right now, such as:

Exercise more, eat a balanced diet, sow family values, don't run red lights, don't chat while driving, don't throw garbage on the street, say good morning, ask please and say thank you, and, if we go a little further, participate in community service programs, do social work, work actively with the foundation with which you feel affinity, and so on and so forth.

But, what I really want to tell you is: 1. The challenge is that when thinking in the first person, we automatically connect with our environment and not, as often happens, isolate ourselves from it, because we are NOT alone! and 2. Always think of the positive over the negative.

Great societies are built with the common effort of all those who inhabit a certain space, responding to needs that they simply did not know existed and gearing their lives to new systems to make it more pleasant and as respectful as possible with those around them and above all, with the environment. In view of this, how about reflecting on the benefits of our country? Have you ever wondered how many people, who visit our beaches and mountains for work or pleasure, wish to stay here? Do you know what is that click they make when they walk the streets of Casco Antiguo or when they eat a freshly made ceviche? What does it remind them of? What do they feel when they walk along the Cinta Costera and see the Pacific coming and going at the foot of the city?

Well, let me tell you that they must be a few and with a vision of greatness because, just to give you an idea, Panama has received in the last year a foreign investment of more than $6 billion, being 21.4% more above the previous year (2018), this as a consequence of the confidence generated by the economic, legal and democratic situation that our system has.

In addition, Panama City, is number 1 in the ranking of quality of life among the countries of Central America and number five in Latin America, according to the twenty-first edition of the survey prepared by the leading consultancy in Human Resources, Mercer. Let's not even talk about the geographical location with which we were awarded, nor about such an impressive engineering work as the Panama Canal, for which we have historians to spare. And, as if that were not enough, we have just obtained the Guinness record for making the world's largest patacón, yes, the world's largest patacón. Now, how much do we value all this and how proud do we feel?

Every place, without a doubt, has its charm. Our country has become a melting pot of cultures, more than of races, therefore the comparison is natural, and if it can help us to take positive examples to achieve the comfort we are looking for, these will always be welcome.

Betting on the growth of a city goes beyond statistics and numbers, it is linked to the feeling that generates you to say: here I want to be, here is where I can contribute, and based on this to integrate with society to strengthen ties with the neediest, to apply effective solutions to problems that arise, without criticizing so much and doing more.

Only in this way will we be fully grateful every time we return from a fabulous trip, and full of motivation. #sociedad #entorno #programascomunitarios #cascoantiguo #inversionenpanama
